The Generator is hosting a gallery at The Reno Tahoe International Airport in collaboration with Cleanup The Lake!
Presented by The Generator in collaboration with Clean Up the Lake, From Waste to Wonder is a group art show that breathes new life into discarded materials retrieved from our local lakes. This exhibit showcases the innovative works of talented artists who turn waste into stunning pieces of art, highlighting the beauty of sustainability and the importance of environmental stewardship. Each creation tells a unique story of renewal and creativity, inspiring viewers to see the potential in what was once considered trash. Join us in celebrating the intersection of art and ecology, and witness how we can collectively contribute to a cleaner, more vibrant world.
Here's your chance to transform trash into treasure!
In the coming weeks, members will have the opportunity to access a selection of items pulled from the depths of Lake Tahoe with the mission of crafting art pieces to be displayed at The Reno Tahoe International Airport. The items were pulled by the organization Cleanup The Lake, a Tahoe based non-profit group that has collected over 71,299 pounds of litter from Lake Tahoe, of which 63,487 pounds were under the surface.

Spark The Imagination: Kids Classes
Share your skills with local kids at The Sparks & Spanish Springs Libraries!
Spark the Imagination classes take place at the Sparks Library (1125 12th St, Sparks, NV 89431) and Spanish Springs Library (7100A Pyramid Way, Sparks, NV 89436) every second Sunday of the month.
The workshops are held at the Sparks Library from 11am-12pm and at the Spanish Springs Library from 1pm-2pm.
You will give a short presentation on yourself and your work, then present a hands-on project or activity. Artists will arrive at the Sparks Library at 10:30am to set up and breakdown from 12pm-12:20pm then will arrive at the Spanish Springs Library by 12:40pm and breakdown after 2pm (setup and breakdown often takes 20 minutes or less).
The Generator Education Coordinator will be at both workshops to assist with setup, breakdown, and whatever else the artist may need during the workshop.
Compensation for this workshop will be $500 *including* supplies, with the idea that you should not be spending more than $100-150 on the materials and perhaps will be contributing materials you already have stashed. If you would like to order anything via the Generator Amazon account, we can do that with sufficient notice (the total will be deducted from your pay rate). You are also welcome to inquire about materials we may have around the Generator.
