Whether you're a seasoned maker or just starting out, Generator Membership is the perfect way to get involved in the community, gain access to tools, equipment, knowledge and resources you need to bring your projects to life.
Our memberships are broken into three categories
How it works:
Standard Members
Standard members have access to the Generator during open hours, Tues-Sat, 10am - 7pm, with onsite staff to assist with tools, equipment, and general questions on projects. Everyone who works at The Generator needs to have a standard membership. Discounts available for neighborhood members, students and adults with a shared address or studio.
Members pick between a Small Shop Membership or a Fabrication Membership, and can pay an extra $20 for access 7 days a week 6am-10pm.
Studio Artist Members
Studio Artists are members who rent open, flex style studios, starting at 100 sqft. Studio Space is for active members of the community who maintain a small shop or fabrication membership while needing space to store and work on their art for a minimum of 6 months.

Build Projects
Build Projects are are for those who require temporary working space for a project that will finish within 6 months, such as a trailer buildout or burning man project. Build Project Leads can request access to the building outside of open hours while their crew helps them complete a project. Build Projects can apply for space via our online application.

Standard Memberships:
Small Shop Membership
Access to the Generator during open hours, Tues-Sat, 10am - 7pm. On-site staff to assist with tools, equipment, or projects. Use of all small shops and any flex-use workspaces or co-working space. Includes discounted access to workshops, events, and member-only events and programs
$20 per month or $200 annually
Shared Membership: $30 per month*
Discounted Membership: $15 per month*
Fabrication Membership
Access to the Generator during open hours, Tues-Sat, 10am - 7pm for anyone who needs to use the fabrication shops regularly! All the benefits of a standard membership plus use of the wood and metal shops, but with a discount!
$80 per month or $800 annually
Shared Membership: $140 per month*
Discounted Membership: $60 per month*
Space Rentals:
Studio Artists
The Generator offers a number of dedicated flex style studios for local, adult artists, currently with around 50 artists in house! All mediums are welcome to apply. Studio Artists gain 24/7 access to the Generator shops for the term of the contract. Discounts on storage cabinet rental.

Build Projects
The Generator offers dedicated space for temporary builds and projects at the Generator. Temporary Build projects are defined as space rental for less than 6 months. Need to bust out a 30 foot tall sculpture or leave your ongoing upholstery? Build Project Spacing is for you.
Applications for 2024 build season are currently being processed. To be considered for project space this season, please apply for space ASAP.

The Genny Crew:
The Generator prides itself on being a fully inclusive space available for all.
To ensure inclusivity across all members, we offer limited work exchange positions each year to qualified members. The Genny Crew commits to providing volunteer support to the Generator in unique ways. All members of The Genny Crew receive a monthly membership at no cost, as well as other benefits throughout the year.
